Abstract :
Power crisis has become a buzz word around the world. The scenario in Bangladeshis not that much different too. To meet up this crisis government is coming up different solutions, like renewable energies such as wind energy and solar energy. Solar energy is very good in progress. But according to the demand the above mentioned sources produces very inadequate amount of energy. Compared to them other renewable energies are still lagging behind, especially Hydro Kinetic Energy. Bangladesh has a long costal area of 710 kilometers with 2-8 m ocean head/height rise and fall. This height is sufficient enough to produce power. We collecteddata of coastal region from BIWTA(Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority). As per our theoretical calculation the output of Hydro Kinetic Energy at Sandwip Channel was found to be very promising which is around 1.16 MW. Finally we have simulated this system by creating a prototype in HOMER simulation software.
