Abstract :
From the last few decades the world has become more anxious about severe climate change. So the interest on clean energy is increasing tremendously. In Bangladesh power crisis is a regular and acute problem. There are many isolated areas and islands where no electricity have been reached yet. To abate the severe energy problem wind and solar energy has good prospects. Bangladesh is situated between 20.30 and 26.38 degrees north latitude and 88.04 and 92.44 degrees east which is an ideal location for solar energy utilization and It´s long costal line is suitable for wind energy as it is caused because of the bumpy heating of the atmosphere by the sun and revolving earth. In this paper, we have proposed a Hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) based on Wind turbine and PV module which is capable of meeting 50% of Sandwip´s load. We checked the possibility of meeting this demand by simulating this system by creating a prototypical in HOMER simulation software.
