Abstract :
The authors show that DB-Prolog, a database programming environment for engineering design, can be adapted. Its original application was to computer-aided control system design (CACSD). It is shown that it serve the wider needs of computer-aided control engineering (CACE) by using it to construct a model-building environment and a simulation environment, within DB-Prolog. These two complement the original CACSD environment. It is shown that the three environments can be readily combined to provide an integrated environment for CACE. The authors deal primarily with the entities required to model the application areas. Behavior of the entities is not treated in detail
