Abstract
It is not possible to successfully plan and complete a journey unless a certain amount of information is available. In the case of blind and partially sighted travellers the amount of accessible information is often unnecessarily restricted. The Royal National Institute for the Blind has also been looking at other ways in which independent travel could be made easier for blind and partially sighted people. From this work the specification for the RNIB REACT system was produced and the equipment was designed and produced by GEC Marconi. The RNIB REACT system has been designed and produced to assist blind and partially sighted people in finding and using many public machines and information systems
