Abstract :
An advanced access network operation system based on TMN and OSI system management concepts is developed. To supply a unified management view for an access network, a general network resource management model is proposed. Functional requirements are extracted and allocated to each management layer. The management information model is designed to express a proposed access network resource model and functional requirements using managed objects definitions. The performances of the developed operation system satisfy the requirements for a commercial system
