Abstract :
In the diagnostic of high voltage (h.v.) insulating systems, the application of phase-resolved patterns of partial discharges as a tool to assess a state of such systems is now observed. However, the recognition of kinds of defects in the structure of an insulation system from three-dimensional image is a complex problem because of the influence of many factors on partial discharge mechanism. This paper presents some of them on the basis of results of partial discharge measurements and investigation of degradation processes
