Abstract :
In this paper, we design a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) beamforming system for frequency selective fading channels (FSFC). The system is based on a blind code filtering adaptive beamformer at the base station and the Alamouti´s transmit diversity at the mobile users. The system performance is evaluated by simulation in terms of bit error rates (BER) and beam patterns. It is shown that, in flat and severe FSFCs, the proposed hybrid system significantly outperforms MIMO systems without beamforming.
