  • Abstract
    Design of a control system for DC-DC buck converter is analyzed to improve transient response of output voltage. Controlling of DC-DC converter involves complexities because of switching property in their structure which further leads to non-linearity. PID controller is used to enhance output characteristics of DC-DC buck converters. Firefly algorithm is used with combination PID controller to achieve best performance in transient response. State space average method is used for the analysis of buck converter including parasitic effects. Simulation results are compared with classical optimization technique such as genetic algorithm to ensure the validity of proposed combination of different performance indices for a PID control method.
