Abstract

The growing portion of packet data traffic in mobile communication systems makes it important that accurate traffic models for various services be obtained for network planning and provisioning. In this paper, we present traffic models for typical mobile data services including VoIP, video, WWW and FTP to assist in the evaluation and engineering of data services in mobile communication systems. We also discuss how to adjust related traffic model parameters to facilitate simulations.
