Abstract :
This paper suggests the application of bond graph method for modeling multidomain system and then an approach to model order reduction that retains structural information in the reduced order model (ROM). Neither traditional methods such as aggregation nor modern techniques that explain H-infinity theory maintains a link between the structure of the original model and ROM. Bond graphs are domain independent, allow free composition and are efficient for classification and analysis of model, allowing rapid determination of various types of acceptability or feasibility of candidate design. Here a system is taken with electromechanical position control with a electric motor driving a load that has one dominant vibration model. Firstly a bond graph modeling is done for this system and through bond graph a transfer function is generated. The algorithm is outlined and the properties of the reduced models are indicated. The algorithm and other three model order reduction techniques are applied to this system and the absolute errors between the original and ROMs are compared.
