  • Abstract
The term accurate transducer can be broadly described as any device that converts one form of energy into another, faithfully representing the measurand and showing a negligible or permissible deviation from a standard. This general statement can be applied to accurate transducer for power system measurement. In this case, the transducers is a device which converts electrical alternating quantities at power system frequency to an output which is a DC analogue electrical signal and is a function of the input quantity being measured. The accuracy of transducers in the field of power system measurment is clearly defined by the class index system which is set out in the international standard IEC 688 (International Electrotechnical Commission). This states the permissible deviations of the transducer output signal under closely specified conditions
