Abstract
The multicast ad hoc on-demand distance vector (MAODV) routing protocol, designed for mobile ad hoc networks, offers quick adaptation to dynamic link conditions, low processing and memory overhead, and low network utilization. In this paper, we propose a reliability of the multicast ad hoc on-demand distance vector (RMAODV) routing protocol in terms of the delivery of data packets. RMAODV supports a reliable multicasting suitable for mobile ad hoc network by reducing the number of route reconstructions and packet retransmissions. Simulation results show that the RMAODV has high packet delivery ratio and low end-to-end delay for packet delivery.
