Image analysis for beginners

This paper describes the methods employed to introduce students to image analysis and processing techniques at both the Undergraduate and the Graduate Level. A taught Undergraduate Course in Geographical Information Systems largely tackles problems of classification on existing images rather than the acquisition and processing of such images.
