Abstract
Instead of using GPS (global positioning system), people are researching to use ad-hoc network protocols and applications to obtain the navigation and positioning information. To fulfil these requirements, the ad-hoc network should have good performances such as high speed, more accurate and low power demanded, and its sensor network needs to be optimized. The optimization introduced in this paper is achieved by modeling and simulating using OPNET. The main tasks are to find the optimum power range and the optimum number of sensors in a specified area
