Abstract
This paper sets out the state of power supplies for France Telecom telecommunications systems. It attempts to predict future changes in requirements and the consequences this will have on the powering architecture. The first part of this paper deals with equipment installed in central offices and suggests a complete rethink of powering principles. The second part sets out the problems relating to powering of optical fibre access networks of the FITL type
