    This paper is based on ten years´ experience of teaching Applied Machine Vision in Graduate Diploma and M.Sc. courses in Information Technology and Mechatronics. The content and methodology of a modular course are described in relation to constraints on time and other resources. Operation of a system based on the Acorn BBC computer is outlined
