Abstract :
Optical fiber is a guide for illumination made either on the basis of refraction (Snell-Descartes), for multimode fibers, or as a waveguide itself in the mono mode. Attenuation is an important factor limiting transmission of the signal over long distances. The purpose of this paper is to analyse coupling modes, losses on fibre, and to present results obtained regarding measurements relevant regarding attenuation using a test platform.
