Abstract
Hypertext and hypermedia are technologies that have evolved to illustrate a class of computer based solutions rather than as solutions to specified, well defined problems. Now that usable technology is emerging much attention is being directed towards identifying problems that such systems could address. The study is concerned with identifying some of the factors prohibiting the introduction of electronic documentation. The focus of the study is the production of an `electronic laboratory hand book´ for use in a district general hospital
