Abstract :
This paper describes the testing of accelerated aged oil-paper insulation samples to investigate the degradation processes observed in the insulation from aged transformers. Accelerated ageing experiments up to 84 days were performed on paper wrapped insulated conductors at 145°C. Ageing experiments were conducted in the presence of air and of nitrogen. The condition of aged insulation samples was investigated by measurements of interfacial polarization spectra using a DC method
