Title :
Overcurrent protection of DC power plant equipment using modern high performance current limiting fuses
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
This paper presents information on fuse performance characteristics such as interruption rating and current limitation and how they relate to safety and component protection. Comparisons are displayed between different fuse types as well as other protection devices. Selective coordination is also covered with examples of how to achieve it and what to avoid. Additionally, a discussion of maintenance and reliability issues is included. With an awareness of the above information, the engineer will be better able to select the most suitable means of overcurrent protection based on comparisons and trade-offs
