Abstract :
The author discusses the advantages and disadvantages of virtual private networks (NPNs) for business. It is concluded that are are sound business reasons for using VPNs but the technical difficulties must be overcome and the service widely deployed and attractively priced before users can receive the full benefits of VPN technology. VPN will become a real option for businesses when cheaper, universal service is available
