Abstract :
Techniques to improve the waveform relaxation method on multiprocessor systems are discussed. First, a method to simulate circuits with feedback loops in an efficient way is described. The method is based on strongly connected components (SCCs) and dataflow scheduling. A scheduling algorithm for the parallel simulation of SCCs and subnetworks is explained. Then, the parallel element evaluation and an extension of the scheduler to the three-level scheduler is given. Finally, the time-segment pipelining method is explained. Several real-life circuits have been simulated successfully, and simulation times show a substantial acceleration
