Abstract :
Adaptive control of lidocaine serum concentrations based on sparse measurements is discussed. A model-based control law is used in conjunction with Bayesian parameter estimation to adjust the drug infusion rate to achieve and maintain a desired serum concentration. The performance of the system was assessed in Monte Carlo simulations over the range of pharmacokinetic parameters in the patient population
