Abstract :
To face the ever-growing traffic information acquiring requirement of intelligent transportation system, microwave photonics based traffic information collecting system is proposed in this paper. The proposed system is compatible with existing electronic sensors and possesses the advantages of photonics in bandwidth and transmission loss. Hence, the system provides the possibility to gather all traffic information in the whole city and analyses them in a remote local station with enough computing power.
