Abstract
Localization is the foundation of several techniques and applications and plays an important role in Wireless sensor network (WSN). A variety of localization algorithms are based on Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). Although the RSSI-based localization technology needs no additional hardware, the accuracy of this method could not meet the requirements of some applications. A novel Localization error model is proposed based on a large number of experiments. In the first phase, a power amplifier (PA) will be added to enlarge the linear region of wireless signal. Secondly, a novel sample matching algorithm is proposed to improve the accuracy of localization. To maintain the performance of localization under the conditions with less beacon nodes, an improved Euclidean algorithm is proposed. The experimental results indicate that the improvements from these aspects could significantly reduce the localization system error.
