Abstract :
This paper proposes a new framework for scalable video coding. A mesh-based motion estimation model is designed and applied in this scheme, which generates a continuous motion field. The temporal correlation is exploited by Barbell Lifting. Different wavelet coding algorithms are presented to remove the spatial redundancy of low and high-pass temporal subbands. Experimental results show that our proposed scheme outperforms the well-known MC Embedded Zero Block Coding scheme (MC-EZBC).
