Abstract
According to the traditional consumption function theory, his paper makes an empirical research. Based on the existing study, selecte resident´s consumption data of China, using China´s provincial panel consumer data from 2000 to 2008 to analysis the relationship between population age structure and consumer behavior. The results showed that the youth dependency ratio and the old dependency ratio are positively correlated with consumption rate. The conclusion consistent with the life-cycle hypothesis, indicating that the changes of population age structure is an important factor affecting the resident consumption.
