Abstract :
A photoconductive terahertz emitter based on a long-carrier lifetime semiconductor is demonstrated experimentally. Using plasmonic grating contact electrodes enables achieving high quantum efficiency and ultrafast operation simultaneously, eliminating the need for a short-carrier lifetime substrate.
