Abstract :
The same-geometry discrete rectangular-wave transform (DRWT), a cost-effective algorithm for implementing the DRWT, is proposed. This algorithm provides a better procedure with respect to both speed of computation and ease of implementation. In the same-geometry DRWT, power of two lengths is the constraint. There are 2 log2N-1 stages in the implementation of a DRWT with length N. Furthermore, log2N stages are identical, so only log2N stages require circuit design in the implementation phase. The delay of each stage is merely one addition, and the cells required to construct these stages are simple, so the algorithm is suitable for VLSI implementation
