Abstract :
In this paper the optimal positioning of the phasor measuring units is done for complete monitoring the power network in Khouzestan province in Iran. Here a goal function is introduced based on the (ILP) integer linear programming to find the optimal number and position for PMUs. Also the key posts effects are studied. Topological method is used to formulate the monitoring analysis for the network. ILP method is applied for the standard IEEE network as well as the networks in Khouzestan province. The simulation results show that the 400 and 230 KV networks in Khouzestan province can be completely monitored by installing PMUs on 27 percent of buses.
