Abstract :
We propose a method for image matching in scenes including repetitive patterns like buildings, walls, and so on. In this paper, by introducing a feature space of the elements of the repetitive patterns, we can detect not only the repetitive pattern regions in each image, but also find correspondences between the two images. We perform geometric clustering in the feature space using geometric AIC in the detection, we obtain correspondences by finding a proper transformation between the corresponding clusters in the different two feature spaces in the matching. We show the effectiveness of our method by experimental results using simulated and real images.
