Abstract
The authors have developed and clinically tested a compact unit which interfaces a PC with an intracardiac catheter for monophasic pulse delivery in electrophysiological studies. Also, while not pacing, the unit senses the intracardiac electrogram which appears at the same pacing terminals of the catheter. Thus, this relatively simple interface unit has enabled a PC with a D/A and A/D board, to perform safe programmed stimulation of the heart and real-time monitoring of it´s response to each stimulus, as well as it´s natural rhythm, via the PC screen. The unit has enabled to prove the great potentials that call be unfolded with PC-based stimulation
