Abstract
The effects of load variations on the operation condition of islanded MicroGrid (MG) including VSI-based distributed generation (DG) are presented in this paper. The role of MG Central Controller and droop controllers as the first and second hierarchical control levels in islanded MG is described. In order to study the effects of load variations on the stability of MG, the voltage source inverters (VSI), load and network are modeled and eigenvalue analysis is carried out to define an index to illustrate the small signal stability of MG.
