Abstract
Firms use network ties to share knowledge across organizational boundary and these collaborative ties between firms can have the positive impacts on the innovation output. Based on the social network perspectives, a firm´s social capital can increase the exchange of learning information in supply chains, thus enhancing knowledge creation. This study investigates the influences of relational, cognitive, and structural capital on the exchange of learning information, then exploring the impacts of learning information on supply chain knowledge creation. This paper argues that the exchange of learning information is an important mediator between social capital and knowledge creation. Therefore, it suggests that information visibility is a critical resource that a firm can gain from its social network and that a firm can use to create useful knowledge in a supply chain.
