Abstract :
The implementation of a time-adaptive (i.e. delayed) continuously variable slope delta modulation (CVSDM) system is described. A performance evaluation of the result for various input sinusoidal signals and sampling frequencies in comparison to ordinary (non-delayed) CVSDM are presented. It is shown that delayed CVSDM offers up to a 5 dB signal-to-noise ratio improvement with a minor increase in the overall system complexity
