Abstract
In recent years, network coding has been paid much attention to as information rate can achieve the max-flow bound by using it; meanwhile, it could increase throughput, minimize time delay and save energy of a network. Network Address Translation (NAT) is widely used as a way to save IP addresses; however, the traditional scheme of NAT has a poor data forwarding efficiency and low throughput. In this paper, network coding is applied to NAT traversal schemes for better performance. Simulation results show that in most conditions the new scheme provides higher throughput and less end-to-end time delay than traditional schemes.
