Social signals and the ENR index - noise of searches on SNs with keyword-based logic conditions

Social (quantitative) signals - a notion we plead for - are manifesting, among others, through social networks (SNs) and media. We contribute definitions related to social signals and noise and analyze several of their characteristics. In addition, we present results of the analysis of time series related to the response on social networks to various events. Specifically, we study the noise produced by searches based on keyword in logic conditions and discuss the magnitude of the reflections of the events and comment on the relevance of the conditions. Of particular concern is the influence of the SN search seen as a `measuring device´.
