Abstract :
This paper describes a simplified analytical approach to evaluate the performance of WDM systems operating on long distances in the presence of high chromatic dispersion with channels having different bit rate and modulation formats. Simulation results show that such a method can be extended to links where channels can be added and dropped along the path.
