Abstract
Ultra-wideband time hopping binary pulse position modulation performance in a free space propagation condition is analyzed. An analytic expression for the bit error rate is obtained, in terms of signal energy-noise power spectral density ratio (E/sub x//N/sub 0/), number of users, bit rate and impulse characteristics. Multiple access interference is assumed to be a zero mean Gaussian process. Theoretical results are compared with simulation analysis and the validity of the Gaussian hypothesis is discussed.
