Abstract
The MNM (multiport network model) method for the analysis of microstrip patches is extended for the analysis of thin patches covered with a dielectric layer. Analysis and design of one-port and two-port rectangular patches with a cover layer are reported. Experimental results verify the modeling and analysis approach. This approach is being used for computer-aided design of series-fed microstrip arrays covered with a thick dielectric layer.<>
