  • Abstract
Information Resources Management (IRM) is the concept that information is a major corporate resource and must be managed using the same basic principles used to manage other assets. Furthermore it is a process that links business information needs to information system solutions. However there is no step-by-step guideline for implementing IRM, in this paper we proposed a methodology for implementing Information Resources Management system which helps corporate to gain the most benefits of managing their information by making a linkage between key data and the corporate strategies. We have developed a five-phase methodology. In phase zero, scope definition, critical success factors for the organization should be finalized and by developing a CSF-Process matrix, the key process as the scope of the project should be selected. In phase one, review of present situation, the selected process should be mapped. In phase two, target establishment, at first the key stakeholders should be identified and their expectations should be developed. Process target development should be performed for the process, information system and information technology architectures. In phase three an implementation plan should be developed and executed. In post-implementation, the last phase, maintenance, assessment, modification, and reporting should be considered.
