Abstract :
The possibility of deducing the density of a sulfuric acid solution from the measurement of the speed of an ultrasonic wave transmitted into the liquid is investigated. It is found that in the 1.10-1.30 density range and 10°C-50°C temperature range, evaluation of the density is possible by the simultaneous measurement of the ultrasound speed and the temperature. These results have led to the realization of an integrated system for the measurement of the density of an electrolytical solution (sulfuric acid) of electrochemical generators in order to know their state of charge
