Abstract :
A system for intelligent buildings (SEIS) for use in office and business environments is presented. The system is implemented with PCs and/or workstations running UNIX, and peripheral equipment based on microcontrollers. The communications architecture of SEIS is based on an integrated services digital network (ISDN). Auxiliary networks are provided for interconnection of peripheral equipment. The system contains the following services: access control, building information, diagnostics and maintenance, emergency, energy management, HVAC, lifts, lighting, reception, security and surveillance, teleaction, and time and attendance
