Abstract :
Energy storage devices are now cost-effective, but still they are not cheap. The precise amount of storage capacity for a DVR should only be done after careful estimation of the proposed application. The design criteria influences the rating and performance of the DVR like; maximum MVA-load, power factor, maximum 1-phase and 3-phase voltage dips to be compensated and maximum duration of 3-phase voltage dip. In this paper, impacts of load power factor on DC storage capacity of DVR are analyzed and presented.
