Abstract :
Summary from only given, as follows. The Analysis of electromagnetic fields distribution and thrust forces in cylindrical linear motors is carried out by means of an analytical and a numerical model. The analytical model assumes an infinite axial length of the system, while the numerical model, based on an integral equation formulation of axysimmetric systems with ferromagnetic conductors, takes into account the end effects due to the finite length of the motor. The two models were tested comparing calculated results with experimental data of a linear induction motor prototype.
