Abstract
A method for embedding watermarks in digital objects is presented. The proposed scheme is endowed with self-synchronization capabilities that allow watermark detection even if the object has been manipulated. The proposed method bases its efficiency on the embedding of a two-dimensional pattern in the spatial domain that allows fast synchronization recovery in cases the object has been manipulated. This renders the system very suitable for copyright protection of objects in MPEG-4
