  • Abstract
Bandlimited OQPSK and MSK systems were analyzed and attempts were made to find new combinations of transmit and receive filters which give improved performance when compared with recently proposed filters such as superposed quadrature amplitude modulation (SQAM) and cross-correlated PSK (XPSK). A linear modulation technique, convoluted MSK (CMSK), is proposed for mobile radio systems. The results indicate that advantages can be gained over SQAM if a good performance with linear channels is required as well as low degradation under hard-limiting
