    Summary from only given, as follows. The general potential formulation gives a united framework for the study of magnetostatic problems. It is applicable to multiply connected iron regions using standard FEM techniques. This principle has been successfully implemented in the ANSYS finite element analysis (FEM) software program. The paper summarizes the most important steps of its implementation.
