Abstract :
H.264 is an advanced video compression standard and absorbs the advantages of the previous standard. In this paper, we propose a scheme which compresses the stereo video based on H.264 with adaptive prediction mode. In the proposed scheme, left sequence and right sequence are incorporated into one sequence firstly. Then the incorporated sequence is compressed with adaptive prediction mode. There is a processor in this scheme. When the current frame is compressed, the processor chooses a frame which is the most interrelated with the current frame from the prior frames as reference frame. Experimental results successfully demonstrate this method is effective.
