Abstract :
To show the applicability of a new Iterative Fast Model Control strategy that incorporates the controlled limiting of plant states, an example of Aircraft lateral control is used. The Iterative Fast Model Control strategy has been developed to control systems with constrained input that have the form of a chain of integrators (cascaded integrator systems). It has been found that this strategy delivers superior performance to that of other contemporary strategies. This strategy has been extended further, to accommodate various state constraints. The strategy is outlined and methods of adding state constraints are stated. Simulation results of a simple fourth order system and of aircraft lateral control demonstrate that these strategies work efficiently.
